Presentation

Arthrosin tablet: Yellow, oval shaped, having U ¬¬engraved on one side, film-coated tablet; each tablet contains Glucosamine

Sulfate Potassium Chloride USP equivalent to Glucosamine Sulfate 250 mg and Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium USP equivalent to

Chondroitin Sulfate 200 mg.

Arthrosin TS tablet: White, oval shaped, having engraved on one side, film coated tablet; each tablet contains Glucosamine Sulfate

Potassium Chloride USP equivalent to Glucosamine Sulfate 750mg and Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium USP equivalent to Chondroitin

Sulfate 600 mg.

Indication

Arthrosin (Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate) tablets are indicated as a dietary supplement where joint dysfunction is

associated with the degenerative changes of osteoarthritis, or when supplemental Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate may

be considered beneficial for maintaining joint structure and function and for pain reduction.

Dosage and administration

The initial dosage is Glucosamine Sulfate 1500 mg and Chondroitin Sulfate 1200 mg (Two Arthrosin tablets three times daily, or One

Arthrosin TS tablet two times daily) per day for the first 6 to 8 weeks. After 8 weeks the daily amount may be reduced to

Glucosamine Sulfate 750 mg and Chondroitin Sulfate 600 mg (One Arthrosin tablet three times daily, or One Arthrosin TS tablet once

daily).

Contra-indications, warnings etc.

Contra-indications: There are no known contra-indications for Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate.

Warnings & precautions: Persons taking anticoagulant therapy are advised to have clotting times evaluated regularly when taking

Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate.

Use in pregnancy & lactation: No studies have evaluated Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate during pregnancy or lactation.

It should be taken with caution and medical advice during pregnancy and lactation.

Drug interactions: There are no known drug interactions. Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate are not metabolized by

enzymes of cytochrome P450, which means they do not interfere with the hepatic metabolism of drugs.

Side-effects: Clinical trials have reported that side effects are minimal, and are primarily exhibited as flatulence, nausea, or

changes in stool consistency. Its tolerance is equivalent to placebo.

Overdose: There have been no reports of adverse effects from over-administration.

Pharmaceutical precautions

Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light.
